Dublin & Wicklow County, Ireland

From the moment that I read Karen Marie Moning’s Fever series in high school, I’d dreamed of visiting Dublin. There was something so captivating about the way the author described the city, I knew I had to get there. In the end, it was so much more than I could have ever imagined. Welcoming and funny, the people I met, and stayed with, made me feel at home. At the time of my visit, the country was in the midst of an abortion referendum. It was so interesting seeing how the Irish engage civically and it’s quite a bit different than here in America. In addition, this was one of the first times I got a true sense of how a city choses to develop in a way that builds community and aid those who navigate by bike and foot. Honestly, that trip was transformative. I will forever hold fond memories of my time there in my heart.
