Firenze, Italy

Firenze holds a special place in my heart. In planning this particular trip to Europe, I plotted out the bulk of my time to be spent in Italy, and for good reason. The little art and history lover in me leapt with joy at the idea of existing on Italian soil. There’s something very power about the way the past and present coalesce and form the new rhythm of a city.

Although the photos capture many of those larger scenes, the moments that stand out the most in my memories are those quiet slivers of time when my camera was away and my journal balanced on my knee as I watched tourists and residents pass by. It’s in those moments when I attempted to piece together conversations as I sipped a latte or espresso in the cafe, that I feel connected to the broader world.
